Advanced Backcountry Program
The Advanced Backcountry Program offers participants an immersive day of touring in the White Mountains. Designed to expand your skills and knowledge, this program introduces advanced uphill travel techniques, assessing mountain hazards, core mountaineering skills, and more. This program is made possible through our partnership with Northeast Mountaineering, whose expertise ensures a high-quality, educational, and safe experience.
As with all of our programs, we prioritize creating an inclusive, welcoming, and empowering environment where everyone feels comfortable learning, growing, and building connections within the outdoor community.

Dates: March 8th 2025, April 5th 2025
Location: Depending on conditions, we will explore areas such as the Gulf of Slides, the Cog Railroad, East Snowfields, Oakes Gulf, or—if conditions require—a glade for a safe and rewarding experience.

Cost Options:
$175 (without rental equipment)
$225 (with rental equipment, including avalanche gear, crampons, and ice axe)
Scholarship Opportunities:
One fully covered scholarship available per program date.

Selection process is conducted anonymously by our Board of Directors, and 100% of the program cost will be covered for selected applicants.
