Legislators & Advocates Women’s Uphill Day

IST x MOB at Mt. Abram

Description

Join us for this special day in partnership with Maine Outdoor Brands at Mt. Abram, created specifically for women who work in the Maine Legislature and/or advocate with conservation and recreation organizations across the state. This tour is a chance to get outside together, learn ski touring or split-boarding (or keep building your skills), and connect with other women doing important work for Maine’s outdoors. We have a true no-drop policy, meaning no one is ever rushed or left behind.

Check-in is in the main lodge from 9:15–9:45 AM, with the goal of being on snow by 10:00 AM.

This specific program is free to sign up for. For context, the standard on-resort participant cost for IST programs is $20. If you’d like to help cover that cost and/or support participant scholarships, please consider selecting one of the optional “add-on” options during registration. Inclusive Ski Touring is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

  • Please note that uphill tickets are not included; they can be purchased online or in person for $15.

Alternatively, an Uphill New England (UNE) Season Pass covers the uphill access needed for IST programs, eliminating the need for additional uphill tickets. The UNE pass also provides access to 24 partner resorts across New England, expanding opportunities for everyone to experience mountain adventures on their own terms.

  • Uphill rentals are available from the Mt. Abram Rental Shop. Gear must be reserved online in advance, as rentals are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rental Pickup: Rental pickup begins at 9:00 AM on the morning of the program. Please arrive on time. All gear must be returned after the tour unless a full-day rental has been arranged.

You can reserve your gear online here.

For sizing questions, refer to our rental size guide or contact the Mt. Abram Rental Shop.

  • At Inclusive Ski Touring, no participant will ever be dropped or rushed. Our guides and volunteers ensure everyone moves at a comfortable pace and feels supported throughout the experience.

We believe that ski touring and splitboarding is for everyone, and our No-Drop Policy reflects our dedication to fostering a community where all participants feel valued, supported, and empowered to enjoy the outdoors.

  • This program will follow the approved Easy Rider uphill route at Mt. Abram. The route is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) long and includes a vertical gain of about 1,000 feet (305 meters).

  • Participants must be confident in descending blue square terrain while skiing or snowboarding. We are not downhill instructors, and you are responsible for your own safety during the downhill portion. Skiing or snowboarding is done at your own risk.

Our tours focus on creating an open, welcoming environment for all. Negative attitudes or judgment towards others will not be tolerated. This space is intended for learning in a supportive, safe atmosphere, and for meeting other like-minded individuals.

Mt. Abram is a classic, family-friendly ski area in Greenwood, Maine, with a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe that makes it easy to learn, explore, and connect on snow. From their groomed trails to their cozy base area, it is a place that feels like home for new and returning skiers and riders alike. We are incredibly grateful to Mt. Abram and all of their employees for welcoming Inclusive Ski Touring programs in 2026 and for the ongoing support, care, and community they share with our participants.
