Trans Touring Day at Mt. Abram

IST x Kindling Collective

Description

Our Trans Touring Day at Mt. Abram is offered in partnership with Kindling Collective on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 to create an inclusive, empowering space for trans individuals to learn ski touring or split-boarding, while connecting with others in the community. This program day fosters a supportive environment where no one is rushed or left behind. With subsidized costs and a no-drop policy, it welcomes all skill levels and celebrates the unique perspectives and experiences of participants.

About Kindling Collective

Kindling Collective is a queer-centered gear library creating an accessible pathway to outdoor experiences in Wabanaki Confederacy Territory / Maine.  They aim to build community and support people in nurturing and sustaining relationships with the natural world and each other. At Kindling Collective, members can check out the gear they need for camping, hiking, and backpacking adventures. You don’t need to be queer to be a member; you just need to be on board with supporting and affirming queer people’s access to the outdoors. Their guided trips and events are designed by and for queer people. Check out their event calendar here.

Mt. Abram is a classic, family-friendly ski area in Greenwood, Maine, with a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe that makes it easy to learn, explore, and connect on snow. From their groomed trails to their cozy base area, it is a place that feels like home for new and returning skiers and riders alike. We are incredibly grateful to Mt. Abram and all of their employees for welcoming Inclusive Ski Touring programs in 2026 and for the ongoing support, care, and community they share with our participants.
