Employment opportunities
We pay three people. One full-time member of staff, and two part-time seasonal guides who lead our backcountry programs through the winter. Everything else runs on volunteers. When we have paid work, it is posted here.
Open positions
We do not have any open paid positions right now.
If you are looking for a way in, volunteering is genuinely it. Most of the people who have taken on responsibility here started as volunteers, and our four mountain coordinators all came that way. Volunteering starts here.
How we hire when we do
We post here, in our newsletter and on our social accounts at the same time, and we say what the role pays in the posting. We do not ask candidates to state salary history and we do not run unpaid trial work.
Who we pay
Three people are paid. One full-time member of staff, our Founder and Executive Director, and two part-time seasonal guides who lead the backcountry programs through the winter. Both guides are professionals and they are on our payroll for the season rather than volunteering. Everybody else, including the four mountain coordinators and the twelve lead volunteers, is a volunteer. Who they all are.
Contract and guiding work
Our AIARE and mountaineering courses run with Northeast Mountaineering, whose guides are theirs rather than ours. If you are an AMGA or AIARE qualified guide interested in working with us, email info@inclusiveskitouring.org with your certifications and we will keep you on file. Guiding work here is seasonal and part-time.
Equal opportunity
We are an equal opportunity organization. We are also, by our own account, an organization built around the belief that outdoor spaces have not been equally open to everybody, and we hire accordingly. Our equity, diversity and inclusion policy is published in full.
